News
_My Best Day by Erin Greenwell was recently accepted into Sundance! Sonora filmed the role of Laura in the summer of 2011. She is currently in pre-production for Minerva Mingles and Airport Douchery.
Sonora had a costar in the pilot episode of Boardwalk Empire and on Chuck, and shot the role of Betty on Romantically Challenged on ABC with Alyssa Milano, Kyle Bornheimer, and Kelly Stables. Most recently she shot a commercial for H&R Block, and began writing and producing GingerComedy.com, launching soon.
She shot an industrial for Citibank, an infomercial for Joan Rivers' Amazing Magic Foot Cream, and several voiceovers including a children's book with a South Boston accent and a spot for Creative America. She had a guest star on the web series The Hotel, recently renamed Away.
She continues to study and perform at Upright Citizens' Brigade and was also seen on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report segment on the funniest commercials of 2007 for her Extended Stay commercial, directed by Smart People's Noam Murro.
She originated the role of Breanna in the 2008 Los Angeles production of The Chalk Boy, published in 2009 by Original Works. The show was well reviewed by Variety and the cast appeared on NPR and in American Theatre Magazine.
In 2007 Sonora received her MFA in acting from Brooklyn College and shot a commercial for Holy Spirit Hospital, a short action film, and hosted The Vagina Monologues at Gene Frankel Underground. That summer she moved to Los Angeles, where she booked a play, short film, commercial (with a Scottish accent!) and a producers' session at Warner Brothers in the first week. During the strike, she studied extensively at The Groundlings, UCB, and Shakespeare with Patsy Rodenberg and Catherine Fitzmaurice. She has performed in numerous Off Off Broadway plays, voice overs, and indie films as well as network television. Today she lives in Manhattan and divides her time between New York and L.A.
